Chen, Yukang was born in Shanghai China in 1949.  He graduated from the Fine Arts College of Shanghai University, and became an instructor at the Oil Painting department at the university. As a member of the National association of China, his works have been exhibited in multiple art show in China and received awards.  In 1990, He was invited as a guest scholar by the Academy of Arts in Berlin Germany, where he taught painting.

Yukang moved to New York city in 1992, where he further pursuing his passion in arts. He is dedicated to combining Chinese painting and Western drawings. He is attracted to the colors of Impressionism and the compositions of Eastern traditional paintings. in 1994, his abstract painting was exhibited at the Z gallery in Soho New York. Through out his New York career, he took up interior design and was commissioned to design spaces and homes for private clients.

Yukang's paintings have been shown around the world including Germany, England, Japan and Denmark. Several of his works have been purchase by private collections. Today, Yukang lives and works in New York.
